Welcome to the latest Shuttle - The SZ77R5
Shuttle have now launched their latest machine to take advantage of the Intel Z77 Express chipset. Code named Panther Point the Z77 chipset is an evolution of the Z68 (Cougar Point) chipset. The Z77 chipset has a smaller die size and native support for USB 3.0 in addition to the features in the Z68. Despite the reduced die size the Z77 uses marginally more power than the Z68 with a Max TDP of 6.7 watts compared to the Z68's 6.1 watts. Intel launched the Z77 as the chipset for their 3rd generation Core processor. The chipset was launched in early May 2012 and the new processors became available later that same month.
The 3rd Generation Intel Core Processor code named Ivy Bridge is an evolution of the 2nd Generation (Sandy Bridge). The main advancements are a reduction in manufacturing process from 32nm to 22nm and enhanced integrated graphics which include support for DirectX 11. Both the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors incorporate a memory controller and PCIe links in addition to the integrated graphics.
Shuttle have made very good use of the available features in the Z77 chipset including two SATA 6GB ports, 4 USB 3.0 Ports, PCI Express 3.0 and Intel Rapid Store Technology. Here is their specification list...
